OPAWL is a grassroots membership-based community that organizes for social justice and elevates the voices, visibility, and progressive leadership of Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) women and nonbinary people in Ohio. By co-creating an organized and intersectional feminist-led community, we are building collective power. Our primary strategies for building power are through community building, art and storytelling, political education, and organizing campaigns. We are looking for an Operations Manager to increase our organizational capacity around membership support, communications, and organizational systems and development.
The Operations Manager position is an opportunity for an individual with strong organizational and communications skills to build collective power in the Ohio AAPI community by creating processes and procedures to help OPAWL members effectively carry out our mission.
The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating multiple moving pieces in collaboration with others in order to advance social justice and liberation for and with marginalized communities. This is an ideal position for a person who enjoys working with a team to develop innovative organizational systems and processes to help solve problems, build a healthy organizational culture, and keep teams organized.
Strong organizational skills (finance, operations, and HR), communications skills (written, verbal, as well as social media), and a commitment to building intersectional feminist leadership are essential for success in this role.
