As part of the #IWillEatWithYou solidarity campaign, OPAWL is hosting a series of dinner discussion events with the progressive Ohio AAPI community and friends. The discussion topic for our #IWillEatWithYou dinner on 8/19 was the intersections of disability justice and racial justice — including how we are seeing that play out in protests, the 2020 Census, and the upcoming elections. The global pandemic, the Movement for Black Lives, and the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 2020 have highlighted the importance of learning from visionary disabled activists like the late Stacey Park Milbern, and the need for accessibility in all aspects of society.
