Saturday 10/08, 10-11am EST
via Zoom (OPAWL members, please check your emails for the registration link!)
OPAWL invites the parents and caregivers among us to join in an intentional conversation to reimagine what it could be like if our organizing spaces were collectively restructured to support the unique challenges that we as caregivers face. In this conversation, we will also discuss:
The idea of “mothering” as a non-gendered, radical verb
Stigmas we may have faced as parents/caregivers in activist spaces
How movements that have historically centered the needs of parents, caregivers and children benefited everyone involved
Those who attend will also receive a small stipend and curated reading list to help inspire an ongoing conversation. We look forward to sharing space with you and learning how we can best support each other through the journey of parenthood and caregiving!
Hosted by OPAWL Facilitation for Liberation 2022 Fellows Sharon Kim & Nikki Banzon Siababa
