Membership Meeting + Redistricting Workshop
August 30, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Membership Meeting – August 30 at 6:00PM
OPAWL’s next statewide general membership meeting is on Monday, August 30 at 6:00-8:00pm EST!
In this meeting, we’ll reconnect with current and interested members across the state and share important updates on OPAWL’s organizational structure, member caucuses, our new branding toolkit, and an exciting political education training fellowship just for OPAWL members.
Starting at 7pm, we will transition to a Redistricting Workshop to engage in the Ohio redistricting process that is currently underway. Learn how you can get involved to fight against partisan gerrymandering, and make our districts fair and representative of our communities. Updates on the redistricting process, training on how to draw your own community district maps, and how to provide powerful public testimony will be shared by Carrie Coisman (All On The Line) and OPAWL members Sharon Kim, Lalitha Pamidigantam, and Fariha Tayyab. Ohio AAPI voters deserve fair district maps that will ensure our power over our elected officials. We can shape our political future, but we can only do it by working together. Let’s show up and fight for our communities!

Note: We define “AAPI” as including those of South Asian, Southeast Asian, East Asian, Central Asian, Southwest/West Asian, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian descent, regardless of immigration status and inclusive of mixed race individuals and transracial adoptees.
